  • Detailing my red G35 tomorrow, need suggestions

My main objective of tomorrows detail is to remove swirls from my car that were caused by going to car washes that use brushes (that was dumb of me and this was before I was into detailing). My car is full of swirls.

Now I need your help on the process. I am going to start off with Meg's Gold car wash and clay and after that I'm not sure, so I need your input on what steps and what products I should use. (below the products that I currently have) I was thinking of using Scratch X and then NXT?

Will you be doing this all by hand? I worked on a G35 and the paint was on the hard side. I've read other threads where others experienced soft paint so hopefully your paint is easy to work on. I could only imagine by your description that the paint is full of swirls. With the product that you have I would do a test spot using the scratch x and another test spot using the #9 to see which one gives you the results that you're satisfied with. Aside from that I would recommend buying a dual action polisher with some W-8006 pads & Meguiar's #80. That will make your detailing experience much much easier.

This is the one I worked on. This one may be in worse condition then your car is.

Oh good. Try the scratch X see how that works out for you then you can follow up with the NXT 2.0 wax.

Go with the scratch-x. on your test spot. Hope it works.

I haven't use ScratchX, but have used #80 and #83 to remove swirls. With that combination, if #80 does the trick on a test spot then stay with that. Otherwise, you might need to go to #83 and follow with #80.
