  • Wheel cleaner and painted brakes

I bought one of the Meguiar's holiday kits this winter with the Hot Wheels wheel cleaner, but I can't use it on my Evo. I did a test spray, and it left some white marks on the calipers, so I went back to normal car wash soap and a brush. The stock pads dust big time, and using wheel cleaner will help speed things along. As anyone used APC on painted calipers without it causing paint damage?

I've used it on Porsche wheels/brakes without any issues. I think the main thing is to make sure they are 100% cooled down.

We offer a product called Hot Rims Aluminum Wheel Cleaner.

This formula is safe for uncoated and polished aluminum, anodized, powder-coated surfaces and all brake components.

We would recommend this over APC.

I'll have to try that out. I was using the stuff in the pink bottle. It does a much better job around the lug nuts than the cheap car wash I use now. Thanks.
