  • paintballed!

a few days ago, my car was parked in a nice hot, open parking lot at school, while i was at the race track.

While there, the car got paintballed, and its pretty much baked on there...

Im looking for something thats going to get the paintball junk off, and was wondering what you fine folks suggest

    Re: paintballed!

    Hi:

Had only one experience with paintball on a vehicle.

I used a bug and tar remover that I purchased at a store. Can not remember the brand, was in a white can.

I would saturate each spot and let it soak a while. Using another clean cloth I was able to wipe the residue off. It was slow to come off but I was able to remove all of it.

You might try clay. It's designed to remove overspray, so it might get the job done.

          Id try clay first.
If its fast, loud, and runs on a flammable liquid...count me in.

            Re: paintballed!

Check out this thread and some of the techniques outlined for removing dried bug splatter....

            Bugs Bugs and more Bugs

Take a wash rag and saturate it with water or your car wash solution.

Place the wet wash rag on top of the dried bug splatter and allow it to sit for a few minutes. A variation of this would be to use warm/hot water.

To speed up the process, apply some gentle pressure while drinking a cold soft drink and if need be, hum or whistle a little diddy.

Another variation of this would be to apply some Meguiar's Bug and Tar Remover to the wet wash rag before applying it to the dried bug splatter.

After a few minutes have passed give the area a gentle wipe-off and the bug splatter should remove easily. Then either wash the car as normal or wipe the area down with a quick detailer.

A variation of the above but for a larger area would be to use a larger cloth such as a bath towel. Saturate a clean, soft 100% cotton towel with water and place it over the affected area.

Allow the wet towel to sit for a short period of time and then remove the towel and wash as normal or wipe the area down with a quick detailer.

              hey LD9_SUNFIRE
the paintball paint is water solluble so you can dab off the majority of it and then just rinse it or wash your car , but if the paint goo stays on too long then it will have the same affect as bird droppings on your car or worse. My moms car got attacked by paintballs last year and there were little dents left all over the car.
              Good luck with your problem!
