  • quick detailer

hello there, i have a question, i bought a meguiars quick detailer and use it in my black suv. and i really love it, its like i waxed my suv. Im taking care of my car so much, and as much as possible want it to look nice everyday, but unfortunately, the weather here in canada is unpredictable, sometimes it rains, then sunny, then it rains again. and also my suv gets dirty fast cause its balck, so you can see it easily. now, my question is, can i use a quick detailer every other day, even though its a little bit dusty, and with a water marks by rain, by not having the clear coat scratched? cause im afraid of getting it scracthed if i wipe it with a little bit of dust. or should i use a duster first to remove some dust, or just use the hose and have a quick shower for the car before using this Q detailer. thanks for help!

    Re: quick detailer

Mist & Wipe products like Quik Detailer are for removing,

    Light dust
    Fingerprints
    Smudges

Quality mist and wipe products are designed to remove light dust while protecting the paint so you don't instill scratches. That said, if the paint on your S.U.V. has more than light dust or dirty water spots caused by dirt in the air that is transferred to the paint via rain, then you'll be safer to wash the paint using free flowing water.

Either way, sooner or later you have to "touch" the paint by washing it or wiping it clean, which method to use depends upon how dirty the paint is.

It's a never ending problem for all of us and especially if you live where it rains often.

        Re: quick detailer

microfiber cloth when using QD. Try the UQD as well, works great

About the only thing I use terry cloth on the paint is when I have hard to reach areas/small areas that the PC can't get too.

I have those big spongy gizmos wrapped in microfiber that came in Meguiar's gift packs I assume for the QD/UQD etc sprays, but haven't tried them yet.

            Re: quick detailer

I would not do the interior with it. There is a Quick Interior Detailer for that.

You can do glass, though be prepared for possible streaking... I use the UQD after washes, and I will do my windows with UQD if they dont need a proper cleaning. Sometimes I get streaks, sometimes I dont. I think it is more common with the regular QD.

Thanks guys. Anyway I really like this product, this morning i use it to clean my car cause it has a dust, and get wetted yesterday by rain. And I really want to try if its good for medium light dust, without scratching the paint, and oh man, amazing no scratch, no swirls, really cool. I used it with microfiber cloth. really cool
