  • How to avoid wax "sweating"???

I live in the Northern, NJ and during the summer, 90-100% humidity is NOT uncommon. I've had some "sweating issues" with the NXT spray wax before, but this past Sunday I woke up at 7am and went out to wax my car.

I had washed it the night before, but ran out of light, so left waxing until the morning. My car was parked in my drive way and it was entirely in the shade. The paint was cool and dry (white car).

I was using my G110 + a W9006 pad to apply the wax at speed setting 3.

I was using a brand new pad. I put an inital "X" of wax on the pad and started to apply it. I was moving rather slowly, ensuring I was getting complete coverage over the paint. It's tough putting wax on white, as you can't really see it until it starts to dry.

In any event, I put a very thin coat over the entire car. I waited about 15 minutes, came back, looked at the car and noticed the wax was sweating all over the place. Humidity was probably at about 90% at the time.

So, I guess my question is, other than NOT waxing during such high humidity, is there anything I could do to prevent/limit this in the future.

BTW, the wax eventually dried (it took about 40 minutes though) and I removed it with a W7006 pad and a terry bonnet. I keep my wax in my garage (which is usually significantly cooler and less humid than the outside conditions. Prior to using the wax I really gave it a good shake (about a solid 30-45 seconds).

Should I store my wax indoors?

If you can get away with it. Might want to check with the boss first.
