Polishing Aluminum Pipes

What are the different ways to polish aluminum pipes to a mirror like finish?

I've heard of using handgun polish, abrading the surface w/ sand paper while stepping up to finer paper, and using a bench grinder/polisher.

I'll try to post up pics of the piping later tonight.

The piping is for a FMIC. The FMIC is polished but 2 of the 3 pipes are not. I'd like all to match to the same finish.
