Re: Help! Holograms and swirls on black car!

This is a tricky situation. Some people are could be right in saying that the oils left over from the paint correction have started to remove themselves after the wash. Therefore revealing the swirls and holograms. But from my experience I'm 99% sure that all the marks you are looking at are buffer trails. These would not of been left from the initial paint correction stage. As it doesn't matter how meny filling agents were in the polishes from the correction, they would not of shown up like this. My cards are on the fact that who ever washed it, took it outside and saw that it was covered in holograms. This would of been because they use to high a concentration of shampoo. So they took it inside and started to refine the paint with maybe pre-wax cleaner/finishing polish on a finishing pad. But as seen here it shows he worked the rotary to fast on passses and didnt let the polish break down, therefore leaving buffer trails. Japenese paint is notorious for being thing and sticky at some times. When you wash a jap car you need extra care. The best way to keep it looking good every week, is wash the car carefully with the usaul washing processes and 2 bucket method, and then use a finishing polish on a finishing pad. This will remove the holograms but will stop you create=ing more swirls as the D.A. works faster then your hand, therefore breaking down the micro abrasives.

This seems like a hastle but unfortunatly you want to keep it mint this is what I would be doing. Also make sure you detailist is using IPA before inspection of swirls, rds, pigtail, holograms etc, and after compounding bodywork. As IPA will remove any oils left from the compounding stage therefore shoing you the true finish of the paint.

Here's a shot of my merecedes C32 AMG showing a 50/50 of the car before correction and after. This included 2 IPA wipedowns and shows no left over swirls or holograms. If this is the case, then your car will stay good as long as you wash it correctly:
