How often is to often to wax your car? I clayed my car 2 months ago & have since applied 2 -3 coats of NXT2.0 and in between have used the Ultimate Detailer a few times. I live in CT and just made it past the pollen season. I love the freesh waxed look but do not want to over wax it (if there is such a thing). Can you wax it weekly or is that too much as I really enjoy spending the time to wax my Mustang. Or should I clay it more often since I apply wax often?

You can wax as often as you like.

You can also clay/clean and polish as often as wanted.

I wax once a month on my Mustang and to keep that fresh waxed look I use UQD inbetween waxing.

I usually fall into every 4-6 weeks. To wax our cars.

I usually work around the weather. Meaning during the winters (which are mild by comparsion), I wash my car nearly every week, and wax it atleast once a month. That way it's got some extra protection during the summer, when it's to hot to work on it because it rests outside. It'll probably go 3-4 months this summer without a wax.

I wax every other wash...I too love the just waxed look. If I don't wax I use a detail spray. As long as you are washing and waxing carefully and using good products/tools then I see no warm in waxing as often as you like....is it over kill? Probably, but it won't stop me from doing it!

That's the routine I try to follow for our Pilot and the Jimmy... keeps the paint looking new, by waxing often it makes waxing fast because the paint is always in good condition...

The Pilot is always parked inside and the Jimmy is always parked outside, after washing a quick feel of the paint on the hood of both rigs tells me if I need to clay them at all and if it's need it doesn't take long as they are both washed and waxed often.

My two cents...

The frequency of waxing a vehicle depends on several factors. If you are using a carnuba based wax, then you will need to wax often in warmer months. ( all Carnuba waxes will break down quickly in extreme heat) A synthetic sealant will last longer, but 2-3 times a year is appropriate. Mike stated that waxing a clean car will take less time, so proper upkeep will make the wax process easy and enjoyable. My primary vehicle is red and parked outside all year ( it is exposed to all Maryland has to offer 100 degree heat in the summer, extreme storms, cold winters, leaves, etc...I really need to California, but I digress) I wax with synthetic sealants (NXT) several times a year to maintain the finish and avoid oxidation.

You are correct 1965 Caspian Blue 289 auto & 2007 GT/CS Vista Blue which is my daily driver. Luv them both!!
