  • Hyperdressing uses

I've had the hyperdressing for about a month now and I used it (sucessfully) on an engine detail. I really LOVE the stuff and it has quickly become one of my favorite products.

The only problem I have is I'm not sure what else I can use it for and figured I'd ask. I primarily see myself using it on my wife's Honda CR-V. I'm attaching a online photo of the CR-V (this is not our car, but looks the same).

You'll notice there is a lot of black plastic around the car (under the front and back bumpers and around the side of the car).

So, I was thinking, can I use the HD in those areas?

What about wheel wells, and tires?

    Plastic areas inside the doors?

What about the interior of the car? Right now I use the interior detailer, but I'm curious if the HD can be used on the dash, steering wheel etc...?

If you've got pics of how you used the HD, please post them. Thanks in advance.

    Re: Hyperdressing uses

I don't have any pictures on how I use Hyperdressing, but I use it at two dilutions 1:1 for high gloss, and 3:1 for more of a matte finish. I use it in wheel wells and engine compartments at 3:1, I usually it at 1:1 on trim and tires, inside I use #40, so I don't have any advice there.

      Re: Hyperdressing uses

I've got #40 in the gallon size, so I use it both inside and out. I just did my daughter's black CRV on Saturday. I like to apply the #40 and then wipe off the excess for the matte finish, which to me seems more natuaal.

I'm sure the HyperDressing would be fine on all that trim and wells. I was considering HyperDressing or perhaps All Season Dressing for the exterior. Which one lasts longer?

            Re: Hyperdressing uses

I like to use All Season Dressing on exterior plastic but, there is no reason not to use Hyper- Dressing there as well, both work great.

I mainly use Hyper-Dressing for wheel wells and engine detailing but, I do use it from time to time on the interior. If I’ve done some really good interior cleaning I’ll use Hyper-Dressing more so than #40, which I use for quicker details and weather stripping. Really it’s a toss up between the two when it comes to dressing the interior.

You ask for some pictures so........ here’s some of my truck interior with Hyper-Dressing.

Always nice to hear this sort of feedback, and this is an excellent and versatile product.

              Sure can.

              Definitely.

Absolutely. You might want to avoid using it on the steering wheel, or at the very least go lightly and then wipe thoroughly with a clean terry towel to remove any excess. This is one place you don't want even a hint of anything slippery - not that HyperDressing is greasy or oily in any way, it's just that your grip on the steering wheel is fairly important, you know?

Keep in mind that the gloss level from HyperDressing varies with dilution ratio: the more you cut it the less it shines. Pick up a few spray bottles and mark them with the appropriate dilution ratios and use accordingly.

Mike, I really like your idea of having multiple spray bottle for differant dilution ratios. Thanks for the tip.

                  TX,

Thanks for the pics. Looks amazing and certainly worth trying.

                  Mike,

Great tips and advice. I don't need to worry about the steering wheel though, I'll just put the car on auto pilot!!! LOL

I guess the reason for my question is kind of Mike P's logic... "find something you like and use it often"... only problem is, I like too many Meg's products that there isn't enough TIME to use them as often as I would like!!!

                    You know...this topic rocks

I was laying in bed last night thinking about detailing stuff (go figure?) and I thought that it would be a GREAT idea to post maybe a topic a week that is about a single Meg's product and have all of the MOL member post THEIR uses, likes, dislikes etc about each product. Then sticky each topic.

It would be an AWESOME tool since it would be like combining the knowledge of hundreds of Meg's users into a single tool!

                    Mods...what do you think?

                      Re: Hyperdressing uses

Been thinking about all the different products Megs has available and I get light headed!
I only use HD externally (trim, engine, wheel wells, etc) on my 08 FX4. Internally I prefer to use NXT generation as it shines nicely (and for a long time) and adds a 'nice smell' which compliments the new leather conditioned with Gold Class conditioner.

Oh, btw... 1st post here. Will be around gathering as much info as possible for detailing.
