Is this redundant?

I've been reading in some of the posts that #80 has alot of oils in it.
I have been using #80 followed by #7 glaze topped with NXT2.0 or #26.
Is the #7 glaze a wasted step since 80 has oils in it?
Is 83 the same as 80 only slightly more abrasive? Meaning does it have oils as well. Thanks.

#83 does have polishing oils, but the best results tend to come from following it up with #80.

As far as #7, that is up to you. It certainly is optional, since #80 has a lot of polishing oils in it. Can you see a difference in the paint with just #80, and then with #7? Any difference would be more dramatic on dark colors, but if you cant see any differenc, or not enough to justify the extra time, you dont need to do it.
