  • opportunite of my life- with pictures

So, i am going to polish tomorrow a Lamborghini Gallardo for a dealer that import in Cyprus only that kind of cars and it is my big opportunity to get a good name and a good reputation as a detailer :getdown :getdown:getdown:getdown

The car is half covered with clear bra. That means i am going to detail the uncovered paint and the clear bra...
I am going to work with my UDM.
What polish/pad/speed i have to use on the covered areas??
    Also any tips are welcomed..
HERE IS THE CAR THAT I AM GOING TO POLISH :drool::drool::drool:

    :thx:thx:thx:thx:thx

Nice! I've seen some of your work before and know you will do an excellent job!

I just went over my clear bra last night. I used M80 on the PC with W8006 on a speed of 4.5 with very good results. I also used it on a customers clear bra with the same results.

I deffinitley don't think you want to use anything too agressive on the clear bra though.

        1. Tape-off
        2. Do a Test Spot

Tape off any trim, edges, rubber gaskets between panels and especially those grills, you don't want to try to get white splatter off of anything especially the grills.

Do a Test Spot, make sure you can make one small area look good with your tools, products and process of choice before going over the entire car.

Go to bed early the night before, have all your stuff organized and ready to go and start early!

Take your lunch and liquids with you, you don't have time to waste with anything not related to working on the car like going to lunch or making a trip to the store.

        Treat the car like this

        Good luck! Have fun!

First off congrats on the detail. That is a great machine with quite a few swirls. Sounds like RaskyR1 is familair with the clear bra. Since he's worked on the clear bra and has done some awesome jobs I would probably start off with what he said. I personally have not worked on a clear bra before.

Meguiar's always recommends using the least aggressive product to get the job done, this would include also using the least aggressive pad to get the job done.

This is where your Test Spot comes in, map out a section with tape or just in your mind's eye and test your least aggressive product and pad combination, check to see if it's removing the defects to your satisfaction.

You never know how hard or soft a paint system is until you start doing some testing. You might be able to remove the defects quickly and simply with a very non-aggressive product and pad.

You might find that nothing works and no matter what you try when you wipe off the excess of the last product applied you're leaving scratches with your microfiber because the paint is so easily scratched.

                      So test.

When I do a test spot I test my swirl and scratch removers and inspect the results, if I can get the paint to about 95% of where it needs to be I know my wax will take the results of the surface prep over the top. It's always best to get your surface prep steps to get the paint to 100% of your goal but that's not always possible, not due to your skill level but some paints just don't like to be abraded with the end results looking flawless.

                      So test first.

Once you find a combination of products, pads and process that gets the job done then it's must a matter of duplicating this procedure over the rest of the car and you'll have the confidence that it's going to come out right the first time.

Good point. It's possible the clear bra on the Lambo is from another manufacturer so while M80 worked great for me do the test spot like mike suggested.

As far as LSP I think you will be fine with any wax. I LOVE the NXT 2.0 though.

                            Also...

                            Evaluate your customer

Make sure you want to work for them, there are some people you cannot please.

One question to wonder is what are their expectations and by this we mean how are they going to take care of your hard work?

Somehow the paint became ugly, swirls and scratches, a dull hazy look; if they're going to treat the car in the same way that resulted in how the car looks now, then you're work inst' going to last very long.

Some people just don't understand that clear coat paints are scratch-sensitive and that they need to careful in every way they touch the paint or they pay someone to touch the paint. (car washing and wiping down with a a quick detailer and wiping cloths)

                            Take this into consideration.

Hope the paint is easy to work on and make look great!
