  • Hii I got questions

I im Dax im 18, and Ive found Meguiar's products to be completely superior to the competition for car care. Now that thats over, I keep my car VERY clean and wax it about twice to three times a month; and clay bar when needed. I just graduated and this last month I have found these little white speckled dots all over my car, which I have come to the conclusion that it is pollen "caked" onto my car. I was wondering how to remove them and what products to use.
PS: I SEARCHED THE FORUMS FOR REMOVING POLLEN. thanks =]]

id say try giving it a few dawn baths, to get rid of the coats of wax, if it's pollen, it could be embedded inbetween the layers

also, you really dont need to wax it 2-3 times per month, once a month is plenty, I'm not sure the truthfulness of this, but Ive heard that too much wax will dull a paint's look

      Hey Dax,

Seeing that this is your first post on MOL, Welcome!

I would tend to stay away from using the Dawn as mentioned. Just wash and clay to remove the wax that you already have on the vehicle. Make sure your spots are actually pollen.
if it's pollen, it could be embedded inbetween the layers
This could be the case if the wax wasn't cured and the vehicle was really saturated with pollen.
I would try clay and then a cleaner wax to see if it removes the spots. Then if that solves it, follow up with polish and your choice of an LSP. Keep us updated as to how you make out.

        Just to make sure...

Claying is not removing these white specks/spots?

And you can feel them with your sense of touch and you can tell they are some kind of bump "on" the surface?

I think i might have waxed it after that happend thinking it would remove the Pollen, im pretty sure its pollin. i remember being able to remove a few specks when washing it but nothing really serious. Soo ill try washing to remove the wax and then ill do the clay again.

Mike, Ill try to get the wax off but u can definatly run ur hands over the spots and feel it. not soo much now cause i just clayed it yesterday and waxed it, not getting good results but there was already a nice layer of wax soo ill see whats up and definatly keep you posted.

          thanks for the warm welcome.

          cheers,
          Dax

Claying in some point will remove wax, so you don't have to use Dawn or a harsh soap.
Wash your car with your car soap, then clay again and see if it removes the spots you say.

            What clay are you using?

Have you tried a mild cleaner like Deep Crystal 1 or a cleaner/wax?
