  • #26 on cleaner wax?

Hey guys. I'm about to detail my car today, just had one more question.

Can I use the cleaner/wax, then top the cleaner wax with the #26 wax or do I need to wait until its time to wax the car again to use #26?

    Thanks in advance!

Yes, you can. I think that would be a great combo. In between details where I want to remove swirls and such, the combo I use often is #66 (cleaner wax) topped with #21 (synthetic sealant).

This is also my favorite combo right now. It imho really gives the darker colors alot of pop.

Cleaner wax and #26 play very nice together.

what about #26 vs. NXT 2.0? which looks better and last longer?

              Re: #26 on cleaner wax?

im getting into detailing cars more than just random cleaner wax and calling it a day so this thread works great for me. i just got nxt 2.0 and #26. im going to wash/detail my truck tommorow so after claying it im thinking the 2.0 (wait 12 hrs so it can cure) and then the 26. should i put a layer of cleaner wax under the 2.0 or will the combo of claying and the 2.0 be enough? i take good car of my truck and give it a wax about every other wash (once a month) so the paint isnt in horrible shape

Well, if this is the first time using a cleaner or cleaner /wax, then I certainly would use that.

                1. Wash
                2. Clay
                3. Cleaner/Wax
                4. Wax - #26 or Nxt 2.0 - Since it is the first time, maybe do half the car with each and see what you like better.

In the future, if you are sure the surface is clean after washing, you could just wax a couple times, then go back to the cleaner/wax. And of course claying as needed.

ive waxed with cleaner waxes a bunch and got good result. im just looking to step up to the next level, i think ill do what you say and clay(never been done on my truck and it needs it) then cleaner wax followed by half the truck in 2.0 and half in 26. is there any need or benefit to putting 26 over 2.0?

                    Re: #26 on cleaner wax?

Some people would say it might "change the look", maybe better , maybe worse. I never see a real difference when I have tried layering things, so I just stick with 2 coats of a good wax, or 1 coat of cleaner/wax and 1 coat of a good wax.

Do a panel that way if you want, see if you see anything.

To add gloss you can top the car with Meguiar's #7 before topping the car with #26.

                      1.) #6 Cleaner Wax
                      2.) #7 Glaze
                      3.) #26 Carnuba Wax

This should shine up your car. Have fun detailing.

                          Re: #26 on cleaner wax?

ok so i washed, clayed and waxed my truck i used the meguiars clear wax that comes in the clay kit on the hood and fenders cause they were the worst. i then topped it with NXT 2.0 and did a fender in #26. the 2.0 looks really good but the 26 just has that extra deep look to it. i took some pics so ill start my own tread so i dont hijack too much here.
