  • finally got around to doing it...

Detailing my Brillant Black Magnum that is..

polished with m83/ megs polishing pad/UDM speed 5-6 , didnt go for perfect correction as its my daily driver and didnt want to spend the whole day just polishing

then hit it with color x/white lc ccs pad/UDM speed 6...

then applied m21 x2 2 hours apart for each coat/ megs finishing pad..

car looked amazing, the color x hid any swirls i didnt take the time to fully get out..

less than an hour later, covered in pollen and dust, to th point it hid all the refelectivity and shine..

so the following morning, "flood" rinsed the pollen and dust off, dried it, and applied a coat of gold class liquid wax, WOW it took it a step further, crystal clear lookin paint, but upon removing the cold class, more streaking, where u could see the paint nice and dark in some areas and lighter in others of the hood, kinda like a dark/light/dark/light patern from removing it which i think was cause the sun was starting to come out and i was working out doors..i eft it be for the time being...

today UQD'ed the entire car , then redid the hood and roof with gold class, by hand in the shade all the time, removed it, and what do u know, streak looking circles in the same pattern as i applied it...

sorry no pics as i broke my cam, gotta get another one, but maybe its hte weather this year or something, but as another thread i made a week or so ago, was about streaking also...ive never had this problem or as such as it has happened this year already...

    any ideas..

btw, any pollen repelents on the market, lol, that or bug repellent, nats and ants seem to love the smell of UQD/Gold Class/NXT.l

    Hmmm...

Working in sunlight is okay if it's not to hot out and the surface is cool to the touch... in the shade is always best...

Maybe just getting too much product on the paint? Not as in a layer but as in your car's paint won't hold any more product until some has worn off, thus the streaking and lighter/darker areas.

Streaks and dark patches are signs of product residue still not removed, sometimes changing your wipe-off technique can help sometimes a gentle wash will fix the problem.

What I would do is wipe down with IPA diluted 50-50 then start again and this time apply to 1st panel then a 2nd panel then buff up the 1st and apply to the 3rd then buff up the 2nd and so on that way it removes the possible heat problem and ensures no streaking.....you could then apply your second coat a bit later in the same manner.

I have even applied and removed one panel at a time........I just adapt to the conditions and if that means straying from the instructions then so be it....instructions are guidelines only really.
