My friend has a late 90's Mitsubishi Eclipse that has
Chrysler contributed to this vehicle, and unfortunately Eclipses inherited what I shall kindly refer to as "Chrysler's Rarely Acceptable Paint"
As you probably know, with most older Chrysler paint, these cars often have severe clear coat failure and paint chipping. (I also speak from experience, as we have 2 affected vehicles)
My friend is lucky, his Eclipse hasn't had any abnormalities--yet.
he is running a upgraded turbo with high boost, which has cooked his engine bay!
Plastics have started to deform, and his hood is hot enough to literally cook a dozen eggs.
We are working on getting the engine bay cooler, but as far as the hood is concerned, can I do anything to protect it?
I have been using #21 on it and so far so good-any suggestions?
Please help my moronic friend from trashing the paint
thanks,
nick
