I waxed my vehicle with MegGuiars # 16 wax last fall. The vehicle was always in the garage and used once/twice a week (< 2000 km). After a spring run through the car wash, the vehicle looks great. What I am wondering is: I think I could skip spring waxing, but I want to make sure that there is still enough wax on it. How can one tell whether the wax layer is still intact?

Did a quick look in the "How To Articles" forum, so much good, practical and helpful information in these two forums.

Another idea would be to go a head and wash the car and lightly polish by hand using a light cleaner/polish like our M09 Swirl Free Polish and then apply a new coat of wax.
You could just wash the car and/or wipe it clean and then feel the paint and if it still feels smooth and glassy, then go ahead and apply a fresh coat of M16 to what's already on the paint.
Sounds like the car has been protected enough for this. Just make sure the paint feels clean to the touch and make sure it's clean before applying wax.
Hard to believe this wax has been around since 1951
