What is the proper temperature to apply wax

I would like to detail my 2003 Mustang before I drive it in the Mustangs Across America Drive in April. I live at the top of Illinois and we still have some cold days. My garage is not heated and I would like to know if there is a proper ambient temperature to wax a car.

~One mans opinion / observation~

Apply to a clean dry surface that has been prepared to ensure paint film surface to enhance both gloss and product durability, with a surface temperature of >65 – 90< oF, let dry for 1-2 minutes, remove residue, by buffing lightly and leave to cross-link 12-24 hours before the application of further layers.

MY, this tread brings back memories... I use to run a mobile detail business in northern Ill. Gurnee to be exact. To get the best results it should be above 50 degrees. Do you have excess to a portable heater? I would use that in any garage that a customer did not have heat in. The problem with it being too cold is that the products are not as effective. Wax more difficult to work with, rubber products aren't as effective. Portable heat, even if it boasts the temperature 5 degrees will help.

Thanks Tom for the Info. I'll put a portable heater in the garage overnite and that will bring the temp up ok. Its supposed to be in the 50's This week-end. I live in the Rockford area.
