  • pad that comes with pc question

is that white pad that comes with the pc 7424 equivalent / worth while compared to the meguiars soft buffs?

i ordered the 3 pack of meguiars (2 polishing and 1 finishing) with plans to order more soon, but is the PC pad just as good?

    Hey,

In my opinion, the white pad that comes with the PC is not very good. I would suggest sticking to the Meguiar's pads.

I've used the pad that comes with the PC for paint cleaners like MPPP............ I wouldn't use it for much of anything else. There are plenty of quality pads out there that are better, as you will see when you get the Meguiar's pads.

The best use for that pad that I've heard of so far comes from Mosca! And I think he hit the nail on the head with this idea. Here's Mosca's idea...

Use this pad as a dedicated bonnet pad

That is, use this pad to place your microfiber bonnet over when removing wax. If you want to use a microfiber bonnet for removing your polish or wax with the PC, you need a clean, dry foam pad. In fact, what works best is to have a pad that you dedicated for nothing but use with your bonnets.

You cannot use a used, wet foam pad to remove polish and wax, the wet product that is inside the foam pad will saturate the bonnet and render it useless. The answer, a dedicated foam pad that is never used for applying product. That way it never contaminates the inside of the bonnet, which is important because bonnets are reversible. (At least Meguiar's Ultimate Bonnet is).

Here's a picture of a young lady removing Tech Wax with a Meguiar's Ultimate Bonnet using a clean, dry W-8006 foam polishing pad.
