  • Tar on paint: APC+?

I was unable to lift tar spots with clay from the lower body. I was wondering what other methods are available and would be safe to use on paint. I am currently dealing with single stage bmw paint, but I would like to know what works for clear coated cars as well.

    Thank you!

For stubborn contaminents like that i find it easier to remove if you just get a little more agressive with the clay in that light area. By that i mean use a little more pressure and less lubricant and it usually comes off. Or you can get more agressive clay but you have a chance at marring the paint both ways. So you may want some scratchX on hand just incase

I sprayed GC Bug and Tar remover on some 1.5 year old tar on my paint, and it came off about 30 seconds later.

What did you try so far?

Certainly trying to let any product, Bug and Tar or APC/+, sit a bit longer on the area will help.

I also have had great results using the G C bug and tar remover. Just let it sit a while to lift the tar.
