Getting the gray out.

My car, not my beard!!! I have a 20 year old Porsche finished in "Grand Prix White". I recently repainted the headlamp rims with factory paint and clear coat, due to extensive paint chipping' and they came out well. When I mounted them on the car, the newly painted rims make the front fenders look a bit gray. The door jam paint is bright like the newly painted rims, so I assume the 20 year old clear coat on the fenders are bit "dirty". What can you recommend to get the gray out?

Hi Tom,

Great color! Our '73 911 is the same GP White.

Anyways, first start off by claying the car. This will remove the bonded contaminants that may give the white a certain tint. Then, try a product like ScratchX to remove any light oxidation. After that, you can polish and protect the paint.

I'm pretty sure that the car is a single stage paint. Single stages are normally easier to work with.
