  • What is the best way to dry a new black car (in addition to a dry blade) without scra

I've heard just use regular black towels...but personally...I just shelled out 30k on my car...and black bath towels aren't good enough.

I've heard you need to use black or else the car is going to be linty.

    What should I use?

I would suggest to start with a good car wash, have you heard about the Two Bucket Method?

Dry, if your car is in very good shape, well maintained then you can try this, when you finish washing your car, remove the hose nozzle, water will flow freely and just let the water glide in the surface of the car, cover the hole car, this will remove all those chunks of water that are left in the paint surface. Then you can you Meguiar's Microfiber Water Magnet to remove the remaining spots of water

    Hope this help

If your not worried about what your neighbors think, use a leaf blower for gettting rid of most of the water, then just go over it with a clean microfiber drying towel, or what I do, after the blower, I mist it with UQD and then dry.

While the 2 bucket method will help, gently is the answer. You will still put some swirls in it, but the lighter pressure you use when drying should help reduce these greatly. I have also found on my truck that if you wipe one way (i.e., always wipe from the front of the door to the back), it will dry easier and require less rubbing. Less rubbing = less scratches.

A regular black towel is usually to harsh to be drying your car with and can cause swirl marks. You want to stick with something like a microfiber drying towel or a good water magnet. You can also do what Tom Weed suggested and just use a leaf blower to remove all the water then use the blot method to remove any access water which is probably the safest way because the less you have to rub on your paint finish the more you reduce the potential to induce swirls and scratches.

You are trying to use the least invasive method, so because in the wash process you are removing dirts and grim you have more chances to scratch your paint so gently is always a must but also a good wash method is essential to remove those contaminants.

I'm just trying to say, personally in my case it's proven me to be the best method of washing, and you won't get swirls as much as other ordinary methods

I use a microfiber drying towel and follow with the Meguiar's Water Magnet.

The leaf blower sounds like a reasonable idea--resonable amongst us here-- but I wouldn't blow it near the ground where anything might blow up on to your clean paint.
