  • New Product for applying in the sun?

I may be wrong, but I thought I saw recently a Meguiar's product that was made for applying in the sun. I live in an aparment in Florida and any kind of shade is hard to find where I am, except under a tree (birds like trees too, lol). I know that a cool body surface is best for applying wax and polish. I read in one of these forums where someone used the UQD on a black car after it had been in the sun all day. Is this the product I saw perhaps? I read my bottle and it says not to let the product dry. That seems to be rather difficult on a hot surface and in direct sun.

Sometimes i use under direct sun, no choice. I did used so1o 105 and 21 and it was ok, no difference than on the shade. Actually, i prefer doing 21 and nxt under the sun. But i am sure it is not recommended.

Heat is always a problem because it will try to dry up your product faster than you want and faster than you can effectively use the product whatever it is.

      Now follow me on this...

Even if there is a product that works good on a hot surface in the sun, this same product and all paint care products will always work better on a cool surface in the shade.

Also, when we talk about working with products in the sun we need to be more specific. There's a huge difference between working in the sun in the early morning than there is at noon in August in Arizona.

I can go out and use Quik Detailer on my wife's black Pilot in the morning with little or no problems, (we live in the Mojave desert so it does get sunny and hot early in the morning), but I can't do this at noon.

See this thread for dramatic pictures....

Working in the sun? How HOT does your car's paint get?

It's a problem, and some of our products can be used in the sun but not on a hot surface, there's a difference.

      Hope this helps...
