  • Paint look darker on certain part...

My friend just called me said after he tried M21 2.0 (first try) follow by Gold Class wax, now his car bonnet certain area look darker than others...

    Wondering what caused this ?

His car is about 2 months old and its BLACK colour. In fact before this he already notice this happened after he apply GC wax but its not that obvious...

He was doing all the application using yellow foam applicator pad and during the application of M21 2.0 he apply the whole car till bit hazy before buff off ...than after cure an hour only apply GC

Could this be too much problem be apply on certain area ? This caused by M21 2.0 or GC ?

NOW, how can he overcome this issue ? Clay the whole car again and redo the whole car with M21 2.0 using orbital this time or still with hand ?

How about just reapply with M21 2.0 or GC (either one or both) on those area that is not dark enough ??

    Please comment.

Was he looking at the car with a light shining on it or in the sun? Possible that a quarter panel looks different from a trunk due to the way the light was reflecting off it? Also, is it possible that the car was repainted by the dealer before he bought it?(It can happen, believe me, i found out the hard way)

Also, if you could post some pictures it might help folks make educated guesses at what is going on.
If its fast, loud, and runs on a flammable liquid...count me in.

Its possible he missed a spot when he was applying it.

Has his car ever been repainted?

I have asked him the same thing. He said is not viewing angle problem..just look patchy here and there.. i also suspect he might not apply evenly the M21 2.0 or wax (which one will actually caused this ??)

It won't be reflect on photo as he said.

Just wondering how to overcome this issue now ??

Clay the whole car again and reapply M21 2.0 to the entire car again or just reapply at those place that is non darkner ?

The paint is from factory..never respray before...

Mist any quick detailer over the paint and wipe softly with a clean, plush microfiber.

Another option would be to wash the car, this will usually even out the look, or re-apply one of the waxes, either the M21 or the GC. If you're friend goes this route then have them apply a very thin coat, work the product for 2-3 passes over each square inch. Now let this well-applied, thin coating of wax completely dry using The Swipe Test to indicate when it's ready to wipe off.
