    2. Many washer/dryers have residue from added softeners in wash or towel sheets in dryer. If the last load had some softener, it can get into the next load. In our Kenmore HE washer, the washer will run water through the softener and bleach dispensers even if nothing is there so residue can get added back on the next load.
Thank you for posting that. Those are good thoughts to factor in.

We regularly wash the Water Magnets used here at Meguiar's Garage, and employees using them at home wash them as well. Even after a few years of routine use they still function as we would expect them to.

Water blades can be scary. Try as you might to keep them clean, that one time you get a piece of debris trapped under it and you scratch the paint, you'll curse the day you ever bought one. If you have a properly waxed vehicle and use the nozzle-off-the-hose final rinse/sheet method there will be very little water left on the vehicle. A pair of Water Magnets should then be sufficient to completely dry the vehicle at that point.

It's probably way past time for a good wash.

Do you wash your bath towels? You probably only use those right after stepping out of the shower, and you probably don't worry about scratching yourself while drying off, do you? You should wash your Water Magnet too.

      Thanks.
As others here have mentioned, any good quality liquid laundry detergent is fine. Like it says on the packaging: "Machine wash with similar microfibers only. Do not use bleach or fabric softeners." We throw our Water Magnets in with all other microfibers, whether those be Supreme Shines, Ultimate Wipes, Even Coat Microfiber Applicator Pads and/or Microfiber Wash Mitts.

Ditto for me on the benefits of white vinegar (learned that tip here on MOL). Haven't had any problem w/ my water magnets absorption at all. I usually wash them after I've used them a couple of times (I have 3), or if I see they're dirty. They dry fine; I use one to take off the majority of water, and a second to finish drying. The 3rd is my back-up in case I drop one (Doh!)

How are folks storing their Water Magnet since they do not come with a container?

I just put them in the little cabinet with the rest of my drying supplies. Not to worried about dust settling on them.

Same here, I put them with everything else. If you wanted, you could put them in a ziploc bag.

Since we are talking about washing towels -

wash MF with MF only but does it matter if they were used with say 50/50 in between applications?

Also the vinegar helps with MF but does it help with the DA pads? I think someone said it keeps soap from drying in the pads but just wanted to make sure I had that correct.

                    What is 50/50?
As for the pads, if you are talking about the new washable ones, I suppose it couldn't hurt.
