  • Is this safe

    Hi all
I got to do some detailing this weekend, It has been raining here a lot. The last time I waxed I got wax on my Husky Mud Guards. When I was going over my tiers with Hot Shine Gel I used a little on the mud guards and it removed the wax is this OK or did I mess up ?

You didn't mess anything up from what it sounds like.

      Hey,

You should be just fine. But do keep in mind that Hot Shine is meant for rubber tires and not hard plastic so you may get a little streaking though a strong wiping with a clean towel should even it out.

The correct product would have been Meguiar's Gold Class Trim Detailer. Apply it thoroughly, working it in with a small brush on the areas with the wax and then wipe off with a dedicated towel. Another product and my personal favorite is Meguiar's All Season Dressing. I tend to follow the Trim Detailer with the ASD for an awesome look and long durability!

I used the hot tire shine gel on my mud guards for the first time this weekend and it seems like it worked out great. Im going to see if it lasts longer than ASD and if it does, I may just start using it all the time.
