  • What pad do I start with?

I have been doing some searching and reading and still not sure where to start, I have ordered some pads and a DA and recieved them last week and since then still trying to figure where should I be starting with the 9006 pad or the 8006 and before someone mentions use a 7006 orange pad I forgot about that one. Here are some of my situations spider webs, fine to moderate scratches i'm think that they are, the webs on the hood and roof and the fine on most part of the car and moderate around the gas fill area. So if anybody has any info thanks.

Always try first the less aggressive combo. it depends of what polish are u going to use, what car do you work at.I would recommended you to try first on 8006 pad just to avoid hazing your paint with something more aggressive.if it doesn't work move to 7006 pad.

What polish are u going to use??try a medium cut on 8006 pad and if the swirls are still there try a harder polish.

It all depends on what you are trying to accomplish and how the paint is reacting to the combo (product/pad) you are using.

Basically, you use your W8006 pad for cleaner/polishers products, the W9006 you would use it when applying waxes and pure polishes. Cleaner wax you can use both pads (your choice on how aggressive you want the product to behave)

But like I said, it all depends on how the paint is reacting with the combo you are using. Try this and if you see good results then you are in the right track, if you see that the product/pad combination mars the paint then you can try using the same type of pad with a less aggressive product or vice versa. I say this because in my case my car responds very well to the W8006 pad and it really doesn't matter the product, but in the bumpers if I use W8006 pad it will mar the paint very fast so I basically use #82 with the W9006 or I use a cleaner wax like M66 or A12 with a W8006.

Stick with these two types of pads, don't use the W7006 as this pad is not recommended to be used with the DA

          Good luck

            Morning,

Meguiar's does not recommend using the W-7006 Cutting Pad with the Dual Action Polisher (DA) as it can haze the finish to the point that it may require a rotary buffer and someone skilled in using it to remove the haze and restore the gloss. By the way, Meguiar's W-7006 Cutting Pad is burgundy in color.

The strongest combination of products that Meguiar's recommends using with the DA is the M83 Dual Action Cleaner Polish and the W-8006 Polishing Pad. If this does not do it after several attempts, then you will need to move up to a rotary polisher and the appropriate compounds.

The strongest product that Meguiar's offers for use with the DA, is Meguiar's M83 as mentioned above. M85, M84, M01, M04 are all rotary buffer only.

Here are a few links to peruse:

            I hope this helps!
