  • Scratchers

    Hi Guys,

Previously I was asking noobish questions & preparing to use 'ScratchX', on the hood of my '07 red Honda Fit.

When the Fit is dirty the hood spiders/swirls show up and are visible. After the two bucket wash, & education on how to wash a car, I'm hard pressed to find the swirls, when clean. What should I do wax or paint clean?

    Thanks
    Rick

    Re: Scratchers

I have had spider webs that turned out to be actual spider webs before... so they washed right off.

But if you are unsure, and it sounds like you are just starting out, the paint is likely a bit dirty. Remember the wash removes the big dirt, and the paint cleaner removes dirt from the pores/imperfections, and depending on the product, may remove swirls.

So, I would at least go with a mild paint cleaner like DC#1 for a general cleaning.
