  • Swirls from Washing and Drying and when wiping it down!!!!

I dont get it! I rinse the car, then I wash the car with the Meg's Microfiber wash mitt, then rinse and then when i am drying the car with 100% clean costco microfiber towels or Meg's microfiber i get millions of tiny swirls. I have tried everything. I keep getting them. Also after i use the G110 with m80 and i use the quick detailer and wipe with a micro fiber towel i get lots of micro swirls! I tried wiping the car with just a microfiber in a spot and there they were the swirls again AHH!!

    What am i doing wrong?

Here is a pic it does not show how many there really are but you can get an idea. They are the rainbow colored ones.

How are you cleaning your microfiber towels? Make sure if you wash and dry them not to use a dryer sheet in the dryer.

I just wash the microfibers by themselves and dry them by themselves with no fabric softener or dryer sheet. I never use that stuff

I do not know what to tell you. Maybe an Absorber and use a "patting" motion so you are not inducing more swirls?

Which towels though? The Costco or the Meguiar's? Have you tried one of each on a different section to see what happens?

i have seen this before but only when i tried out some of the cheaper microfiber towels from walmart but i threw them in the junk bucket where i keep my rags for stuff like the undercarrige because i could not keep them from doing that. how much pressure are you using? try out some ultra plush micro fiber towels as well. they are real soft and just gently glide them over the car.

If the cars paint is not smooth aka above surface stuff. The towel will grab the bits of crud & pull it over the. Plus you car is black. Try to wipe the car dry with a little quick detail. This might help to put a little lube between the paint and the towel. Hope this helps.

Don't remember your BMW's paint being that soft, in fact we had to use a rotary to remove water spots and scratches.

Bring it by next weeks "Open Garage" and let's do an experiment.

You mean those things you can buy in a tube? A patting motion wont work cuz you wont pick all the water or product

I have tried really soft and hard just to see the difference and they both do it just not as much when i press lightly. What kind are the ultra plush?

The car was recently clayed. Even on a PERFECTLY clean surface with a brand new or just washed towel it still does it. It scratches when i use quik detail just the same

Ya it is strange. I think they might have been there after we wiped it down and just couldnt see it because of the light. You really have to look close and in the right light to see them well but then BAM they pop out. Ill be down there next week for sure especially cuz i have to give you my g110 to get a new one.

BMW's use ceramic (anti-scratch) CC's and the only real polishes that work for these are Menzerna SIP and 106ff specially made for these kinds of CC's.

Sorry Meg's, Love yalls shampoos and dressings, but not yalls polishes

Wow.. those are the worse scratches I have seen. When you finish wash, take the sprayer off, and just use the hose and let the water run off. There is not much water left. Then I just lay my MF on and it absorbes all the water. Lay it again in the next area, and so on. If any water left anywhere, just pat dry. My 20 x 40 MF is only just damp when I finish and I have a big car.

Are you using the two bucket method?
Where are you keeping your mf towels and mitt?

I'd be asking BMW Customer Service why the "anti-scratch" CC seems severely prone to fine scratches simply from washing. I can't imagine what it would look like if you were not carefully hand washing it.

Is it possible the CC is defective, or is this a common complaint?
