  • 2 Questions, Glass issue and Fenderwell cleaning.

1)My windshield is fairly new and it didn't have this issue when was installed but I noticed that when its raining or when ever I use my wipers *Which are new.* It does a really good job of removing any water since wipers are new but there is Hazy Film Substance on the outside of windshield that I am not able to remove with Invisible Glass. I think they are waterspots.

It makes it so hard to see after wipers pass at night that its very dangerous and I almost hit a curb since it was raining hard here in Boston. My moms mercedes windshield is original and it's even worse.
    2) I am trying to find a way of just cleaning my fenderwells by spraying them down with some thing before washing the car. Could that be some thing like Bug and Tar remover?

I am not wacko enough to go in their by hands and apply dressing afterwards. But do want them to look good. lol

    1. A hazy film won't be waterspots. Try claying it yet?
    2. You could use that. For an AIO solution, use tire foam. It cleans and shines in one step.

For cleaning fenderwells with out using your hands try to spray it down real well to get any loose dirt and grim and then hit it with a good degreaser. once the degreaser gets a chance to work in ( about 20 seconds ) hit it with a brush and then spray off again and repeat if necessary till they are clean. once it is clean to your standards hit it with some tire foam. That is how i would do if if i dint want to get down there and use my hands. if you are looking to not even use a brush try the same method but let the degreaser work just a bit longer and hit it with a high pressure washer. Unless your fenderwells are decently clean aready it will take some kind of mild scrubbing to get that grease and grim off.
As for the glass can you post some pics?

        1. I notice it starts to happen when wipers get old. I toss them and clean my windshield.

        2. I am near Boston as well. I can give you some Safe D-Greaser and SuperDegreaser to try out on your fender wells.

          1) definitely try claying your windshield

          2) try simple green or spray nine. i have found both to be great cleaners

I will never use Simple Green on my car again... took about 2 years for the white stains in the wheelwells to go away.

I tend to clean with APC, then spray some Al lSeaso nDressing in there if I feel like it and spread it around.

I would go ahead and clay your windshield. I would also use some all purpose cleaner applied to a towel and wipe down the wiper blades. If your windshield still has spots, use some #4 with a terry towel to remove them.

For your wheel wells again I would use the apc and go to a dollar store and buy a long handle brush. This will help you agitate the crud in the well. Spray well with water and I would use some All Season Dressing for the finishing touch. Good luck.
