  • Professional Line

I do full detailing of my car twice a year, before and after winter. The full treatment involves Wash-Clay-DC1-DC2-NXT-NXT. Sometimes I would replace NXT by Synthetic Sealant.

I am in a process to order products from Meguiars and I am tempted to try the professional line. So far, I have NXT V2.0 (x2), Smooth Surface Clay Kit. Anything I should get from the professional line to replace DC1 and DC2?

Since my car is silver, it's not a great challenge to keep it nice and shinny.

If you are working by hand, it wont really be a big deal, though you might like to try #7 instead of DC2. #7 is pretty much the top of the line polish. I have been using the #62 Wash recently, but it seems fairly close too Gold Class if you already use that.

Also, you may look at the different Detailers, since UQD is available in bulk (M135), and even the other detailers if you use them a lot.

You might look more at the Detailer Line for other things, like APC, dressings, etc.

I never use any Quick Detailer products. Like I said, since my car is silver and my paint is in good condition, it's easy to upkeep.

OK. I will get the Show Car Glaze (M07). How about Speed Glaze (M80) to replace DC1?

Note that I am applying these products by hand.

I would say by hand, DC1 and ScratchX will be best.

I'd certainly try the UQD for after you just do a regular wash.

After washing, the car is clean already.

I know UQD will give it a just-waxed look. How long would this look last? How does this UQD compared to a full wax?

UQD is not a replacement for a wax, neither a spray wax or spray detailer should be used as a replacement for a wax. Not sure one can really say how long the look will last as it depends on the environment you vehicle is exposed to.

Taken from the product introduction of Meguiars site:
"...can be used daily to remove loose contaminants, dust and grime to keep your car looking its absolute best...."

If I spray UQD to the dirt of my car, would it scratch the paint when I wipe off the UQD?

Keep in mind they are intended to remove light dust/finger prints/loose contaminates (not dirt or heavy road grime and so on). It will keep your vehicle looking great but its still not a replacement for a traditional wax.

I guess it is safer to apply UQD after a wash.

I will buy a bottle in case I do not have time to wax but still want the just-waxed look!
