    mitoman212,

I know ads has a gum freezing spray that you spray the gum with it and it freezes it into a solid chunk that can be broken and cleaned up easier. If you are pressed for timee and can't wait to get it from ads try a janitorial supply company. I used this while I worked at my high school to remove gum off of the bottom of the desks. I sprayed the gum and useda spackle blade to scrape it off. On carpet I would spray the gum and use plastic scraper blades and stiff brushes.

As for that freezing stuff (Sprayway IIRC), CRC just came out with a freezing product for removing rusted nuts and such. That may work too. I have a can of it, but gum doesn't get anywhere near my cars so I haven't tested it for that. May be a faster way to get a hold of something like that. Most auto parts stores should carry it.

I think in a recent post, One of our forum members used "Goo Gone" It appears in the pictures to have removed all traces of the gum. Hope this helps.

Ive heard WD40 breaks it down. Ive never tried it so idk if it would or not.

If it does then clean the area with APC to remove the WD.

Normal kitchen vegetable oil will dissolve most chewing gum, after you remove the gum then use an all purpose cleaner to remove the oil.

Freezing gum works really well and is easier to clean up than most methods. That said it's not always easy to find a specialty 'freezing' product, but any can of compressed air will do the same thing. You can find cans of 'air' at any computer/office supply store, wally world, Kmarche', and the like. Just turn the can upside down and spray, the propellant will freeze instantly. Don't spray your skin, it will freeze it too.

Ice will work, just takes a little longer.

Dry cleaning fluid or Varsol will also dissolve the gum. (Be sure to have adequate ventilation-strong fumes!!)

I've experienced this 1st hand. Literally. Inside a computer case, moving the can to get a better angle...it hurts. It freezes anything very well.

That freezing spray that CRC makes "Freeze Off" does not freeze anything, its just a penetrating oil.

Id try WD40, I know that will remove gum.
If its fast, loud, and runs on a flammable liquid...count me in.
