  • mis-matched paint on door

hey guys i drive a 1993 Lexus LS400 and by the picture that your about to see, u can clearly see that the driver door's color is not matched with the rest of the car. im sure this is another door from another car just by the pin striping and diff vin number on the door. wondering are there any methods to fixing this?
    thanks in advance!

The only honest fix is to either repaint the door to match the rest of the car or repaint the rest of the car to match the door or repaint the entire car.

thanks for quick reply Mike, too bad doors are 200bucks in the junkyards...wonder if they'll do an exchange plus cash.

The recycle yards where we live won't do an exchange, once you buy it, it's all yours, but you could ask since a Lexus door has some value to it.

        Can't hurt to ask.

isnt that door the same color since its also lexus oem paint probably with the pin stripping.... so that means since the door is brighter.... the rest of the car is not bright enough.... so the solution would be buff the rest of the car to the same brightness as the door....

he does make a good point. i would try cleaning and polishing the paint to see if they will match before you go buy another door.
