    What are you working on?
Are you working by hand? PC?

There are some things that you should have in mind, it's not about how many times you wash your car that it will make it look nice and shiny with a deep gloss, washing will make it look clean but you have to remove defect to make it look as you want to, "perfect"

Read the following links, this could guide you.

How to use the G-100 to remove swirls
Will I notice a difference if I use the G-100
Rotary vs PC vs Regular Orbital Buffer
    Final Wiping Techniques
What are the differences between Meguiar's waxes?
What it means to remove a scratch out of anything...

Hope this helps and good luck, if you have any questions feel free to ask

Once you get the paint as smooth and defect free as you can, find a wax you like and use it often, your car's paint will always look it's best.

          Hey,

My goal for silver vehicles is to try and make the paint as glossy and reflective as possible. With the right products and methods outlined in the links that were provided above, you will be on your way.

I think silver can look really good!

Re: How to make a sliver car looks GREAT

To the original poster, after you have prepped the surface - washed and clayed - I have found the biggest difference on a silver car is the polish step. I have detailed 3 silver vehicles. The first time I did a silver car, I was amazed at the end result when I used a pure polish followed by NXT2.0. It looked absolutely wet.
A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

Re: How to make a sliver car looks GREAT

When we had a silver vehicle. The most important step imho was the prep. If you prepared the surface properly andfollow the ideas of the above posters, your car will have the pop you are looking for.

There is more to it than what products, as it is using the correct procedures and products which makes the paint flawless. In my case, I used a rotary polisher, followed by the G-100 Dual Action Polisher. For most people starting out, I suggest using the New Meguiar's G-110 Dual Action Polisher and the procedures outlined in the links Yalerd and I provided.

As for products I used in this particular case:

M-83 Dual Action Cleaner Polish with a rotary polisher and a W-8006 Polishing Pad
M-80 Speed Glaze with a rotary polisher and a W-8006 Polishing Pad
M-80 Speed Glaze with the G-100 (now the G-110) Dual Action Polisher on a W-9006 Finishing Pad
M-21 Synthetic Sealant x 2 with the G-100 DA with a W-9006 Finishing Pad and removed with a microfiber bonnet over a W-8006 Polishing Pad.

Other required products: multiple high quality microfiber towels. I use the Meguiar's Ultimate Wipe MF towel.

The point of my first post and this one is to demonstrate that silver can indeed look awesome! We at MOL will help you to achieve the best finish possible on your car as well!

Re: How to make a sliver car looks GREAT

I bought a 2007 silver Toyota Camry a year ago (titanium metallic, they call it). The finish did not show swirls or light scratches. So I did wash, clay, and #21. I've kept it washed and repeated the #21. Soon I'll repeat the clay and perhaps #80, at least on a couple of scratches. I use NXT Speed or Ultimate QD sometimes between washes. The #21 seems to last a long time-- several months.

                        Tim,

So I can use the G110 with the w9006 pad to apply M80 polish to a prepped car?

                        Thanks,

Sure you can...no problem. In fact, I often use that combo when I come across a paint that swirls easily or as a way to add extra refinement to the finish. With that said, however, if a paint is ultra scratch sensitive, I may sub in M82 or even M66 with the W-9006 instead. It all depends on the finish and how it reacts to the products.

                            Tim,

I'll try it by hand with m09 or m80 since my g11o died yesterday and it will be 3 weeks for a new one and my silver BMW will arrive 14 Apr

                            Thank again,

Sorry to hear about your G110, Meguiar's will take care of you for sure.
One thing that you have to keep in mind is that by hand you won't get close to the results you can get using your G110, it's more hard work and the results are not as good as you get by machine.

Maybe you can wait a little bit and do it all with your G110 when you get it back, just a thought
