  • New Paint: Finally 3 months wait is over...

As per my other thread, some of my panels were re-painted in the last week of December. I was advised to wait 3 months before waxing my car.

Now 3 months is almost over, I plan to wax my car this weekend. For the new panels, is there anything I should watch out?

I have a few detailing options:
    1. Clay- DC1- DC2- NXT
    2. Clay- Cleaner Wax- NXT
    3. Cleaner Wax- NXT
    4. NXT only

I may add a 2nd coat of NXT if time permits.

What do you think about my options? Which one would you use for new paint?

You should feel your paint, if it's rough then you should clay.
It's very hard not to get overspray in some areas when you car returns from the body shop. On the safe side if you have the time clay the entire car, this way you're sure that you remove all contaminants.

Cleaner Wax, you could use it but it all depends if you have the time to the a full detail or you don't. It's better to do your first option (clay, DC1, DC2, NXT), you'll get better results by using a dedicated product compared to an "all in one". Chances are that you have holograms as well and some swirls so a full detail will put your paint finish in the right track for weekly maintenance.

    Good luck with your detail

Even 3 months has passed, these were winter months that I am not sure if the new paint has been fully cured.

My concern is maybe the paint is still fragile that I should take it easy. Want to make sure if these products will not hurt the new paint.
