Hello I have a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 that I have had for about a year and 2 months (obviously) and wanted to wax it soon. Here is my confusion sorry if this has been stated in a previous thread. I just want it to be done right. Thanks.
Should I clay my truck?
If so does the entire truck have to be done?
What do you mean by claying vertical pieces?
Do I have to use a paint cleaner first or at all?
Can all these steps be done simultaneously right after another or do I wait a day in between each procedure?

I would be almost certain the truck could do with being clayed. There is no way to be sure unless you inspect the paint, but I'm pretty sure. Actualy, people often think the paint is smooth, until they clay anway, and see what smooth means.

Yes, I would clay everything, including glass.

Due to road splatter, the vertical panels will often pick up grime first. But since it only takes a short time to clay, dont worry about it.

You would use a paint cleaner second, or a cleaner/wax. The clay gets things off the surface, then the cleaner gets the dirt out of the pores/imperfections.

You can wash ,clay, clean, polish, wax all in one day.

It really depends on how bad the paint surface is. If its bad plan a few hours in claying it, If its a quad cab. I had a 2002 patriot blue quad cab and it took 2-3 hours to clay. Total wash, clay, DC1,2,3 two 8 hour days all by hand. But it looked sweet. Look at it as relaxation therapy, crank up the stereo and just chill out.
