i know you have to be experienced or be a brave soul to use a rotary sander/polisher on your vehicle but what about a orbital polisher, advantage and disadvantages are what?

Re: is an orbital polisher safe?
If by "orbital" you really mean one of those 10" $30 things you can pick up almost anywhere, then the two posts above mine are dead on. But if you're really referring to a DA like the G110 or PC7424 then the answer is a bit different:
These tools are almost idiot proof (don't drop it on the car and you'll be fine) and can actually do quite a bit of work and remove a lot of defects. You need to be aware of what pads and polishes you can use, and know that it can't do everything the rotary can; that is, it won't remove the worst defects, sanding marks, etc. But if you have the typical cobweb type swirls, etc and have been trying to remove them by hand, you will instantly love the DA.Michael Stoops
