  • Question about application of #16

I opened up my tin of megs #16 today and instead of being peanut buttery texture like normal paste wax, it is more of a broken crayone type texture. How would I apply it with the g100? is there a way to get the wax more paste like? or is this how its supposed to be?

Welcome to the world of hard wax. That is the way #16 should be. The most important thing when applying #16 is super duper thin coats. You want it to be almost invisible. If you put it on to thick you will break your arm trying to remove it. Some people that use the G100 will scoop it out with a butter knife or spoon and rub it on the pad. I always apply it by hand. I turn the pad against the wax about a half turn, this causes just a thin layer to melt and stick to the pad.

Ill probably apply #16 by hand also. That way you wont waste as much wax since the pad soaks up alot. Gotta make this stuff last!

How does #16 look? Will it make the paint pop like NXTv2 does or is #16 only known for its beading and longevity?

#16 is different from the current waxes.

I find that it doesn't darken the paint, but it does increase the shine. Also, it is very durable and beads for a long time. I had it last 5 months on a daily driver.

A tin of #16 lasts a long time. Here is the tin I use after 8 vehicles:

It's been discontinued for a while.

I have a few tins if you're interested!

VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) regulations. You can still find it in other countries. I ordered mine from Canada.
