I just found that out since my last bottle lasted over 2 years. That stuff was great for cleaning door jambs, just spray on around the hinges and use a paint brush to get into all the corners and rinse with a hose. 10 years of grease and dirt just falls off. What can I use now? Fantastik and 409 are ok but much weaker. Gunk is strong but you notice the smell for weeks after. What is as effective as EXTRA?

Re: Meguiar's EXTRA discontinued, what cleaner to use on door jambs?
All Purpose Cleaner in our Professional Detailer Line. The smallest quantity is a gallon jug and then you dilute it down with water to the strength level you want for what you're working on.
If you can find a PBE store you can order a gallon in most cases, just the the counter person the part number. (They may stock it too)

If you dont want to get the entire gallon you can order sample (32oz) bottle of concentrate from ADS. If a bottle of extra lasted you a year then a gallon of concentrate would last you for the rest of your life.
Remember thats a concentrate so you need to buy an extra bottle to dilute it in. ADS also has those, they are on the same page as the Detailer line products.

Re: Meguiar's EXTRA discontinued, what cleaner to use on door jambs?
The Meguiar's description of the All Purpose Cleaner tends towards removing dirt from interior soft surfaces and doesn't mention cleaning greasy areas. What about the Super Degreaser? Now that description looks more like what the EXTRA bottle says it will do.

You must be careful with Super Degreaser as it is a powerful degreaser. It is recommended that you wet the paint as Super Degreaser when left on the paint and accidently allowed to dry can stain the paint. Even when using it on engines, it is recommended that you wet all adjacent panels in order to avoid staining the paint from the product.
For door panels I use the now discontinued Meguiar's Safe De-Greaser. But using the New APC+ in a stronger concentration also works very well for grease in door jambs etc...

atikovi, as Tim has pointed out the Super Degreaser has the potential to stain painted surfaces and other surfaces I'm sure, like your door panels if you were to get it on them. I just wanted to tell you the APC+ (and APC as Mike suggested) works very well cleaning dirty door jambs and it has many other uses so, you can cut down on the number of products you need and save money. You can adjust it's strength by diluting it the same way you can the APC that Mike posted about.
