  • Wax step and chose

Guys I'm looking at getting a good coat of wax on my truck is this the steps I should use?

    1. wash
    2. dry
    3. clay
    4. cleaner
    5. polish
    6. wax
    7. last touch spray

I'm looking at the deep crystal system is this a good choice to use? I have never used clay should or shouldn't I use clay?

Clay depends on what kind of surface you're working on. If you feel the paint rough or bumpy you should probably use it to remove those contaminants. The Deep Crystal system is a great choice too.

If you have never used it, I'll go out on a limb and say you might as well.

Remember to use two thin coats of wax, and you wont need to follow up right away with the Last Touch.

The DC system is fine, but you might like to upgrade your wax to the Nxt 2.0 if you see it in the store.

The surface is not to rough or bumpy (very minimal). I might just stick with the deep crystal system and substitute the wax with the NXT 2.0 wax!!

Claying is very easy.... if your car has little in the way of contaminants, it might take you 20 minutes tops. Thats why I usualy say if you havent done it before, why not. You can also clay the glass.

And yes, Last Touch 1:1 with a mild clay bar is fine if you didnt want to go with the kit.

when you say you can use it on the glass this means outside right? Dose it work well? And when you say the kit is that the smooth Surface kit? How long will this kit last? Should I go with the kit or get the clay and use last touch spray? Witch is more affective?

Yes, the outside is where the contaminants will be. Yeah, claying works well. The clay in the Smooth Surface clay kit lasts me about a year, although I do have to buy a couple extra bottles of Quick Detailer. I just worry that the clay would dry out on me by the time I go around to it if I bought the bigger tub.

Either the kit or buying seperately would be fine for you, esp if you want to use the Last Touch a lot as your regular QD.

Enough for various applications, it really depends on how bad your paint is.

It all really depends, with the kit you'll do your hole vechicle a couple of times if it's necessary, buying a Detailing Clay and Last Touch you'll get more applications but if you are only using it for your car I guess the kit will do fine.

                  Good luck with your detail!

The deep crystal system is a good choice to start with. I've used this for a couple of months by hand application and got good results with it. I usually do clay->DC1->DC2->DC3 on a monthly basis and do DC2->DC3 every other week for maintenance.

You might want to consider to get a PC for ease of application.

                    Have fun in detailing.
