  • aerosol QD questions and advice

I recently purchased a couple cans of quick detailer in aerosol form.
They were over half off the usual price

    Quik Detailer (16 oz Non-aerosol) $6-$7
Quik Detailer (16 oz aerosol) $2.50-$3

I typically prefer non-aerosol products, but at this price I am willing to suffer

    Here are my questions-
#1- Are the 2 forms very different?
#2- Can the aerosol version be used for claying?
#3- Does anyone know which version details more vehicles?

    thanks,
    -nick

I believe they are the same amount, correct? Both 16oz? If so, then they should do the same amount. The aerosol can MAY do less since it sprays a finer mist.

I personally think having a metal can around the paint is just waiting for something bad to happen. I bought two just b/c they were buy one get one free and Ive only used it once. Its ok to use on the side panels but I didnt like using it over the hood or roof at all.

I would say they are the same formula but thats just a guess. Idk why they would change the formula just to put it in aerosol. I may be bad wrong though.

The Aerosol Quik Detailer is 18 oz. You get more than in the 16 oz trigger and it actually costs less (msrp). The 32 oz trigger gives you lower cost per ounce.

I quite like the aerosol. It’s handy and less prone to leak if it lands upside-down in your trunk. The mist is very fine and you need to be up close if there’s any wind.

You would be correct! I went to google and a Ace hardware link came up. For some reason it says its 16oz but the megs website says its 18oz.

It is pretty handy to keep in your car since you dont need to worry about it leaking out.

Has anyone used it to clay
            (mike, what do you think?)

I think that the formula may be a little different-

Re: aerosol QD questions and advice

If it's Meguiar's Quik Detailer in an Aerosol Can, this one,

Then it's the same formula in our spray bottle only an aerosolized version

You can use it exactly like you would the spray version, so yes it's perfectly suitable and recommended as as clay lubricant and also to remove light dust, fingerprints and smudges.
