  • Is my tube of ScratchX expired?

    Hi guys,

I recently bought a tube of ScratchX from my local supplier. When I squeezed some out on an applicator pad I was greeted with a clear watery liquid followed by a creamy paste. No matter how hard I shake the tube I get this result. Is this the consistency that it should be, or has it separated due to expiration? And no I can't find an expiration date anywhere on the tube.

    Thanks
    Ken

Sounds like it may have been frozen at some point. Call customer care 1-800-347-5700. Or, take it back to your supplier and ask to exchange it.

      Keep shaking it.
I have the same problem with my ScratchX. We have to shake it for a good 30-60 seconds before it's right.

Thought it was just me. I'm thinking I liked the old version better and may have to root some NOS out from behind the counter.

That really depends on the situtation IMO. I got one of the Meguiars kits for XMAS, the Gold Class kit and I shook and shook and shook and shook but still got nothing but clear liquid out of it and not anything like a white creamy substance.

I wrote an e-mail to Customer Care and they took immediate action and sent me out 2 tubes of ScratchX for my troubles. Now that is customer service! The new tubes work much better than the one I had which has been thrown in the trash.

If you are having that much trouble with it I would say its NG and you should call Customer Care to get it replaced. There was a night and day difference between the original and replacements I received and I have not had the clear liquid issue with the new tube.

Yeah, I had a tube early last spring that had gone bad. I originally thought it may have frozen, but who knows, it was just a guess, as it was with Ken’s. Anyway, I must have shook that tube to the point of looking like a crazy person on two separate occasions with no luck. I ended up taking it back to O’Reilly’s and they were good enough to exchange it for me. I'm sure customer care would have done the same, but I thought I should start with who I purchased it from.

                  Thanks guys,

Returned it to the store and got a replacement. It was a little better, so I used it for the first time today. I had two long scratches that I got the truck with and it took them right out. The dealer had promised to fix them at first service, but I was worrying about having their body man touch my paint. ScratchX saved my a lot of anxiety.

                  Thanks again.
