Questions about Washing.

Hi guys,

Couple questions here:

1. I power wash (gasoline driven high pressure water jet 3,000 psi) my truck only when I've had a particulaly muddy excursion after which I re-apply a coat of NXT Gen Wax, even if I had just applied a coat at my previous wash. My question is if power washing does any harm to my finish? My regular fleet vehicles are power washed at least twice a week.
2. Should I use Hyper wash on these occasions since I'm re-applying my wax anyway or will the NXT Gen Wash be enough?

What would/does your hand feel like if you stick it in front of the nozzle at the pressure you're washing the paint?

Dont put your hand infront of a nozzle with 3000psi coming out of it, that will not end good and its bad if water gets under your skin.

3000psi is a big much to be using on paint but if you keep your distance(at least 2 feet) with a mild spray head then it shouldnt harm anything. I believe mine has a 40degree head that I use, mine is 2450psi.

I set it at about 2000 psi and that seems to get the major mud off.

That was my point. If it would take off skin I sure wouldn't want to subject my paint to it

2000 PSI should be good as long as you don't get too close to the paint. I think coin opps are set around 800-1200 PSI but I like a little more pressure than that. My unit is 2750 but I have it around 2000 and have never had any issues.

Thanks for the feedback on the powerwashing guys, I'll make the necessary adjustments. What about the Hyper wash? Is there an advantage in using it on these occasions or is the NXT Gen wash enough?

Hyper-Wash is super concentrated car wash, both car washes needed to be diluted so in the end, if you're diluting each wash correctly you're ending up with a quality car wash solution with lots of suds as both are high sudsing car wash soaps.
