Oh yeah! I forgot about that!
    Good point!

Shouldnt need more than one or two bottles.

Just have to get everything cleaned, every surface you can get at, cloth and vinyl. Get OE sprayed everywhere, in the air intake, etc. Change the air filter. Windows open, clean air as much as possible.

You should tell if it is helping pretty quickly, or if it is too far gone.

Then look at an Ozone Machine if you need to.

That's a tough one for sure.

Cigarette smell is very difficult to remove because it gets everywhere. That said, a through cleaning of all exposed surfaces will get 90% of it. Cloth absorbs it like crazy and you'll even find it'll settle on vinyl. A good surface cleaner will dissolve it and will show up as a brownish residue on the cloth.

Go over each exposed area twice.
          Shampoo the carpets
Use Meguiar's Odor Eliminator M2301 on all fabric materials even the headliner

Time will take care of the rest.

There's only one thing worse; a chain smoker cigar car. We had a 528i once that we got in a group of cars, white with beige and the interior had turned yellow.

Scrubbed every square inch of the interior and couldn't get the stain out. Our fogger guy, who had a money back guarantee (thankfully), fogged this beast three different times and gave up.

Could not give the car away. Finally took it to Manheim where, unfortunately for the new owner, we got out of it.

Not for nothing, but if the prior owner cared little enough about himself to smoke, how do you think he treated the truck?

I have seen lots of people who care more about their vehicles than they did about themselves, wife and children.
Like Jason said, if you like the truck, it is a good buy, then go for it. Lots of great suggestions for getting the smoke smell. out. My Dad quit four years ago, and he did nothing special, and you can't notice it now. Not saying you want to wait four years, but it can be removed.

I have seen a number of cars completely trashed on the inside, the outside had never seen a can of wax or even a tunnel carwash. Traded in by prominent, top of their field, board certified, etc. surgeons. Go figure...

Odor Eliminator and careful scrubbing of all interior surfaces should do the trick, if not you may just have to live with a slight bit of smell.

there are, of course, a lot of quality products to get rid of unpleasant smells, some of them work well, others - don't enough. usually we should try some different eliminators or sprays in order to choose the best.

and what else that I want to add - our choice should be safe for us, our children and pets - it's very important moment.
