  • Craftsman Sander Polisher

I have a Craftsman 6" sander polisher that I have had for probably 10 years. Is this something I can use in detailing my vehicles? If so what pads do I need? It has a oscillating polishing head with it which I assume is for waxing.

Take a look at the spindle, it needs to be 5/8" diameter to work with the industry standard 5/8" hole backing plates.

Some of the Craftsman Sander/Polishers are light duty and have a 1/2" spindle and won't work with all the available backing plates which you'll need in order to attach a foam or wool buffing pad.

Does anyone know of an adapter for the different thread sizes? I would hate to have to throw out the polisher over this (I would have no use for it otherwise). Thanks.

I've seen people have theirs made, you could try a machine shop.
