  • ? on #9 for new car

    Guys,

My new silver BMW is scheduled to arrive next month, I have left instructions not to wash, dry or wax. There shouldn't be any swirls,
so I'm planning on using the #9 to clean the paint with my new G110
followed by a couple thin coat of NXT 2.0. What speed on the G110
would you recommend since I'm assuming, shouldn't contaminated. I also purchased some #80 for its swirls removing capabilities and the amount of polishers it contains but should have gotten pure also since I want need it much after I remove the defects.

    Thanks,
    Wig

#9 is really good but if you ask most here, they all love #80. It is simply one of the best out there. To me, there is no need for any other glazes after it. Just top it with NXT 2.0

    One thing though.....
You don't have to use to much of it on a 6.5 pad with the DA. Use to much and the lubricants and oil with overide the polishes and you get no cut with it. This is just my experience.

You better post up some pics!!!

      wig,

No matter what I would clay your new car. Why you ask? Due to the way it is transport,(rail, truck, ship) there is going to be some kind of bonded contaminates present. I agree with justin everyone really likes 80 myself included. #9 is Meg's mildest cleaner polish so I would start with that(least agressive product first) then if that is not giving you the results you are after you can step up to #80. Remember to due a test spot first and then check it out in full sun to make sure all swirls are removed. The question of what speed to use goes like this. Megs has stated 5,3,5 for products. 1st 5 for polishing your paint with the correct pad and product. 3 for appling the wax/sealant. Last 5 for removing wax/sealant with a bonnet wrapped 7006 pad. I would also suggest using 2 different pads for your 9 and 80 so you don't cross contaminate your pads. I hope this helps you out.

Thanks for the tips but I don't think the car will have swirls and I will clay it.

Re: ? on #9 for new car

          Guys,

I just want to be sure before using #9 on a swirl free finish. I'm considering using #9 for light cleaning but mostly for the polishing gloss enhancing abilities on my silver vehicle. What speed should I use with #9 to prep the finish for the NXT 2.0 using the G110?

          Thanks,
          Wig
