  • cleaning and protecting powdercoated wheels

I'll be detailing a friend's GSXR-750 soon and the wheels are powder coated white with a little texture to them.... what can i put on them to protect them a little? I didn't know if wax was ok, or something elsE?

If the surface is textured, then removing any dried wax product can be difficult to do as the wax will get stuck in the textured surface.

In most cases the most you can do with powder coated objects is wash them with soap and water and then dry the water off to prevent water spots.

thanks! It's jsut exposed to ALOT of brake dust, so i didn't know if there was something i could put on that would make the brake dust come off easier every time you wash.

My friend has a GSXR1000. I think you'd be able to was the wheels. They're not textured in the way wax couldn't be removed, they are just kind of bumpy so to speak. I say go for it. If you are worried about wax getting stuck, use a spray wax. Couldn't hurt.
