  • How much detailer will I need?

As soon as it warms up a bit, I will be doing a complete detail of my Honda Ridgeline, including claying it. How much of the lubricant will I need? Thanks in advance.

If you get the Smooth Surface clay kit, I would get a seperate bottle of Quick Detailer also. Between those two bottles, you should have enough.

i disagree, i usually get 2-3 clay applications from one bottle of QD. youre only misting the surface, then re-wetting while rubbing the clay.

I use an entire bottle or so for my car each time. I would get two for the truck.

I used one bottle for a 69' cutlass (big boat of a car)

For a ridgeline I'd guess at least 1.5 (buy 2 and use liberally)

80% of the bottle included in the clay kit for one small car (mitsu lancer)...

@ bottles should do it for you. Its always better to have too much then not enough.

I think two bottles could over a car/truck/wagon

Buy a gallon of Last Touch Spray Detailer

A couple of bottles of regular QD will be in the ten dollar range and you can get a gallon of Last Touch for under twenty (and it can be diluted to make even more product). You're going to want it on hand anyway for future touch ups.

How much detailer should be used when claying? I see one person says to mist the surface. Is it possible to use too much?

You cant use too much, though at some point it of course becomes wasting. But better to use too much than not enough.

I did two cars (Honda Accord Coupe and Scion tC) using only one bottle.

On a truck, I think 1 will be sufficient.

Like most others have said...buy two bottles. This will be more than sufficient to do the entire car and you wont have to worry about using too much as you might with one bottle. Also the excess QD can be used to maintain that just waxed finish during the days after your detail.
