My car's paint is quite hard and i'm trying to use ScratchX by hand. Someone recommended that I use 100% cotton towels with ScratchX. Is it safe?

Re: 100% cotton towels safe?
100% cotton terry cloth will give a product more bite, and generaly be more agressive.
You may need to then follow up with an application by a foam applicator to remove any marks from the terry.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue

Never heard this about a dryer sheet?
Didn't know that silicone was in/on a dryer sheet and didn't know that if this is true that the type of silicone that would be used on a dryer sheet could transfer to a polishing cloth of any type and then lead to scratching paint.
Do you have an data that will back this up? We can't let inaccurate information be disseminated on this forum, so please provide some kind of data that shows this to be true.
Thanks!

I'm quite interested about the dryer sheet comment too. The only reason I've ever heard is because the residue the dryer sheet leaves on the towels could leave a film or smears on the paint.Lydia's Mobile Detailing

Re: 100% cotton towels safe?
I found several sites like this that mention basically the same thing:
Of the ones I checked the only one I recognized was from 'Good Housekeeping' but it only mentioned liquid fabric softeners, not the sheets.

Sorry I retract my comment, my mistake....but I did hear somewhere and have been searching the web, also have called a friend that is helping me find the info...when I get it, will send to you Mike via your email for your review....but I did find the good housekeeping statement as listed in other comments past mine.
Once again, sorry....WrightDetail
