  • Need Advice?

I decided that im going to wash my dad's Lincoln Town Car tomorrow since I bought some new products and am eager to try them out. It's not really in bad shape but I would just like to do the right process on it.

    I planned on doing this:

    1. Wash with Meguiars Gold Class Wash
    2. Quik Clay with Quik Detailer
    3. Wash again if needed (didnt need to last time i clayed)

Now here is where im not sure what to do. I could just move on to NXT Tech Wax but I bought ColorX and NXT Spray Wax so dont know if either of those should be applied first before adding the Tech Wax. Or is there something else i need to do that i havent mentioned? I'm SO LOST! =P Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Ryan. You don't need to wash after the Clay as claying doesn't leave anything behind that would require washing.

It would be wise to use a paint cleaner to remove any oxidation and reduce any marring before you NXT. Something like Clear Coat Body Scrub Paint Cleaner #10, or Deep Crystal System Paint Cleaner #30, or Medallion Premium Paint Cleaner #97, depending on the condition of the finish and how much you wish to spend.

    Hope this helps.

      Hey Ryan,

Your off to a good start with the wash and clay. I would also try DC#1, DC#2 and then NXT x 2. Just make sure you let the NXT cure for awhile before adding the second coat.

      Hope this helps. Good Luck.
