  • Newb Here.

My friend is wanting to start a mobile detailing business. While he is good at exterior stuff, like paint correction. I'm good at interior. I have been reading alot about paint correction, I have been reading on this site for a good week. Fantastic site, btw. We started doing side jobs last summer, and I love it. I just want to get good at Paint correction, I've read the 5 step thing about a thousand times. lol, I'm dedicated to being great at it. Here is the system, I think I want to use/buy.

PC G100 D/A with Safety pad

Wash: NXT Car wash, With 2 bucket system(grit guard)
Drying: Water Magnet, Followed with Microfiber.
Clay: Quick Clay Kit, used with quick detailer.
    Cleaning1-Scratch X
    Cleaning2-Deep Crystal
    Polish-Deep Crystal Polish
Wax: NXT 2.0 or #21(Heard good things about both of those.)

Now is this a decent system to use? Does the type of system that you use depend on the color of the paint? Like if I was doing paint correction on a black car, and this was used on a red car(good results) would it work?

I just need a steady system, so that I can get the hang of it.

Please, feel free to elaborate. Btw, sorry for the double posts

Deep Crystal polish is a step 2 to be followed by deep crystal step 3 wax. I believe this looks great on darker paints.

The all rounders from what i learned here are #7 as polish and #21 as sealant.

Or Gold Class liquid polish ,wax.
    Or NXT 2 polish ,wax

I thought that you could mix and match meguiar products, It doesn't have to be followed by deep crystal wax, does it?

Scratch-x will work great for removing swirls but be prepared to really work it in. Its by all means not a wipe on wipe off product. If youre going to be doing alot of cars then I would at least look into the PC along with #80 and #83.

There is probably no use in using DC1 after scratch-x. You can if you want though.

Thanks for the insight. I will be ordering a PC G100. It seems like a really good tool. I'm still trying to learn these number, I have the Acronyms page up at all times. So Speed Glaze(80), and Dual Action Cleaner/Polish(83).

                    It goes like this
                    Wash,
                    Clay,
                    Scratch X,
                    Speed Glaze,
                    Dual Action Cleaner/polish(83)
                    Wax.

Sorry, I'm just trying to make sure I'm getting this right. I see that you're from Eastern Kentucky, I live in Louiville. Thanks for the help.
